About Complete Rehab QC

Care Centered on the Whole Person

Complete Rehab QC was founded by two people who met in school — Chris and Erica Hargrave — long before there was a clinic, a building, or even a plan to end up in Queen Creek.

Chris came to healthcare after a first career spent in the Air Force, law enforcement, and emergency services. Erica trained as a physician, and her clinical perspective has shaped the standard of care behind this practice from day one.

Complete Rehab QC clinicians provide care during two patient visits in the clinic.

Our approach

There Is No Finish Line. There Is Capacity — And the Work of Building It.

Everything about how we practice rests on one idea: capacity is the margin between what your life asks of you and what your body can actually handle.

  1. The Question Most Patients Walk in With

Almost everyone who sits across from us is asking some version of the same question: when will this be over? The honest answer is that there isn't a finish line. And that isn't the bad news. That's actually the solution.

  2. What Capacity Actually Means

When that margin is wide, your body meets the demand without complaint. When it narrows, you start compensating. When the margin disappears completely, something gives. That's when you end up in our office.

  3. Getting Out of Pain Isn't the Finish Line

Healing gets you to the starting line. If nothing gets built on top of that initial relief, the margin is still exactly as narrow as it was before, and it is only a matter of time before the same demand finds the same gap.

  4. Training the Whole Range, Not Just the Groove

Our programs deliberately work into the ranges most people, and most other programs, skip — the end ranges, the unstable positions, the angles nobody bothers to load.

  5. The Hardware and the Operating System

Some things are hardware, and hardware needs to be repaired, not trained — we will always tell you honestly when that's what you need. What we're built for is what happens next: the movement patterns and protective habits still running whatever they learned during the injury.

  6. Why We Built the Practice This Way

Every tool we've added exists because we watched a specific gap in patient care and went and closed it, not because it looked good on a website.

Our story

Built by Two People Who Kept Seeing the Same Gap, and Kept Closing It.

  1. How We Got Here

When we moved to Queen Creek, we didn't know the area and we didn't know many people in it — a cousin in Mesa and Erica's grandparents in Tucson were the only family anywhere nearby. The plan was simple on paper: build a practice from scratch, treat people well, and treat them thoroughly. What we didn't fully anticipate was how much that second part — thoroughly — would end up shaping everything else.

  2. What We Kept Seeing

Years of treating patients here taught us the same lesson over and over. People don't usually come in with one clean problem. They come in after months or years of pain that's been dismissed, managed, or handed a prescription instead of an explanation. They come in after an accident that left them with injuries nobody took the time to fully evaluate. They come in having already tried the quick fix, and having already learned that it didn't hold.

What we saw, case after case, was that the patients who actually got better — and stayed better — were the ones who got a complete picture of care, not just a single tool applied to their loudest symptom. That observation became the reason Complete Rehab exists in its current form. Chiropractic care alone wasn't enough. Chiropractic care paired with real rehabilitation, soft tissue work, and the right technology for the tissue in front of us — that's what actually moved the needle.

  3. How the Program Grew

So we built it that way, piece by piece, always in response to what we were seeing in the treatment room rather than what was trendy in the industry. Physical therapy came in because chiropractic care restores motion, but motion has to be retrained and strengthened to actually last — patients kept losing ground between visits without it. Spinal decompression came in because we kept seeing disc-related cases that needed more than an adjustment could offer on its own.

Shockwave and laser therapy came in because we kept running into chronic, stubborn tissue that had simply stopped healing on its own — cases where the body needed a real stimulus to restart the repair process, not another round of the same treatment that had already plateaued. Dry needling, massage, and therapeutic exercise followed for the same reason: each one solved a specific gap we watched patients fall into, over and over, until we closed it.

None of it was added because it looked good on a services page. Every piece of what we offer today exists because we treated a real patient, watched where our care fell short, and went and found the tool that fixed that specific gap.

  4. What Drives Us Now

At the center of how we practice is a simple belief: healing someone gets them back to where they started. It doesn't build the capacity that keeps them from ending up back in pain six months later. That distinction — between temporary relief and lasting capacity — shapes every plan we build, from a first-time low back strain to a complex personal injury case.

It's also personal. Chris's own path — rebuilding himself more than once through very different chapters of life — taught him that the body and the mind run on the same underlying process, and that real change comes from training capacity deliberately, not from waiting for a single fix to solve everything. That philosophy runs underneath everything we do here, and we go much deeper into it elsewhere on this site for anyone who wants the full picture.

  5. Who We Treat

Today, Complete Rehab QC treats a wide range of patients — weekend athletes, people recovering from car accidents, patients managing chronic pain that's been mismanaged for years, and everyone in between. What ties all of it together is the same approach we started with: find the whole picture, treat the whole picture, and build patients back stronger than a quick fix ever could.

  6. A Practice Built Together

    • Founded by Chris and Erica Hargrave, who met in school and built this practice as partners, from scratch, in a place where they knew almost no one
    • Grown from a single-discipline chiropractic practice into a complete rehabilitation program
    • Every service added in direct response to a gap we saw in patient care — never for its own sake
    • Rooted in a philosophy of building lasting capacity, not just temporary relief

Before chiropractic

  • Air Force
  • Law enforcement
  • ARFF firefighter
  • HazMat technician
  • EMT

Chris didn't come to healthcare in a straight line, and he'll be the first to tell you that's exactly why he practices the way he does. Before he was a chiropractor, he served in the Air Force, worked in law enforcement, and spent time as an ARFF firefighter, HazMat technician, and EMT. Each of those roles put him in direct contact with people at the worst, most physically and mentally demanding moments of their lives — and taught him early what it actually looks like when a body and a nervous system get pushed past what they were prepared to handle.

That background shapes how he practices today. Chris doesn't view rehabilitation as a series of disconnected treatments — he views it as the process of rebuilding capacity, deliberately and progressively, the same way he had to rebuild himself more than once through very different chapters of his own life. It's also the foundation of the clinical philosophy woven throughout this site: that healing and training are the same underlying process, and that real, lasting change comes from building capacity, not chasing a single fix.

Beyond the clinic, Chris is active in chiropractic leadership at both the state and national level, serving as the ACA Delegate to Arizona and Vice President of the Arizona Association of Chiropractic. He is a Past President of the ACA Sports Council Executive Board. He stays closely connected to the first responder community he came from, competes at a high level in slow pitch softball, and brings the same discipline to training and hunting that he brings to patient care.

Chris co-founded Complete Rehab QC alongside his wife, Dr. Erica Hargrave, building the practice from nothing in a place where the two of them knew almost no one when they arrived.

Background

  • Third-generation chiropractor
  • Raised in Colorado
  • Basketball
  • A.S., McCook Community College

Clinical focus

  • Prenatal and postpartum care
  • Rehabilitation for all ages and activity levels

For Erica, chiropractic has always been more than a profession — it’s part of her family history. As a third-generation chiropractor, following in the footsteps of her grandfather and aunt, she grew up with an appreciation for the body’s ability to heal, adapt, and perform. Raised in Colorado, Erica developed her own connection to movement through basketball, where she learned the value of discipline, teamwork, and physical resilience. That athletic foundation, combined with her family’s chiropractic legacy, helped shape the way she approaches patient care today.

Erica continued her education at McCook Community College in Nebraska, earning an Associate of Science degree before moving to Kansas to pursue her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. It was there that she met her husband, Chris, beginning a partnership that would eventually extend well beyond their personal lives and into building a healthcare practice together.

Today, Erica brings a combination of clinical experience, athletic perspective, and personal understanding of motherhood to the way she practices. She has a particular passion for working with prenatal and postpartum women, helping mothers navigate the physical demands of pregnancy, recovery, and returning to movement and exercise. As a mother and an athlete herself, she understands that motherhood changes the demands placed on a woman’s body, but it doesn’t have to change what she believes her body is capable of. Her goal is to help women feel strong, confident, and capable in their bodies through every stage of motherhood.

While women’s health is a particular passion, Erica’s approach to rehabilitation extends to patients of all ages and activity levels. She believes effective care should go beyond temporary pain relief, focusing instead on restoring function, building strength, and giving patients the tools to remain active long after their time in the clinic. For Erica, rehabilitation isn’t just about getting someone out of pain — it’s about helping them build the capacity to return to the activities and experiences that make life meaningful.

Alongside Chris, Erica co-founded Complete Rehab QC, building the practice from the ground up after moving to Arizona with few local connections. What began as a shared vision has grown into a multidisciplinary practice rooted in the belief that better healthcare comes from treating the whole person, understanding their goals, and helping them take an active role in their own recovery. Together, they continue to challenge the idea that healthcare should simply manage symptoms, instead emphasizing movement, progressive rehabilitation, and long-term physical resilience.

Outside the clinic, Erica enjoys weightlifting, staying active, and embracing the challenge of maintaining her identity as an athlete through motherhood. She and Chris are raising their daughter alongside four Australian Cattle Dogs, and she continues to find inspiration in the balance of family, fitness, and building businesses that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
